Back in 2006, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens busted out onto the scene and taught the world what true love is all about — both on-screen and off. But unfortunately for Disney Channel fans everywhere, their love is no longer, and likely will never be again.
In an interview with Access Hollywood Live on Wednesday about her new show Powerless, Vanessa dropped a major bomb by admitting that she and Zac haven't kept in touch over the years following their breakup.
"I completely lost contact with him," she said, essentially shattering the hopes of High School Musical lovers everywhere who thought there might be a chance they'd get back together one day. (That being said, Vanessa and Austin Butler are the cutest — so obviously, she's doing just fine without him.)
RIP Zanessa. Let's all re-watch this glorious duet between Troy and Gabriella one more time in their honor.
