Barack Obama delivered his final address as president of the United States last night, capping off 8 years in office during which America made major strides on issues like healthcare access, LGBT rights and nuclear disarmament.

But even as President Obama celebrated the nation's progress, he cautioned against taking democracy for granted — and encouraged all Americans to get involved and keep at it. "I am asking you to believe," he implored. "Not in my ability to bring about change, but in yours."

His inspirational words left many viewers choking back tears. And when the president spoke on a more personal note, tearfully expressing deep gratitude to First Lady Michelle Obama and adoring pride in daughters Malia and Sasha, it was almost more than some could handle. Though the speech lasted nearly an hour, plenty of Americans weren't quite ready for it — or for Obama's presidency — to end.

Young Hollywood was no exception, as these emotional reactions prove.
