Pizza is likely already your favorite junk food, but if you're into grabbing a slice as much as we are then you need to know a few things about one of the country's top shops. Pizza Hut is more than just a red roof churning out pizza boxes that double as projectors. Here's everything you need to know about the brand before you order your favorite pie.

1. Five bucks can get you a medium pizza.

Or a double order of breadsticks. Or boneless wings. Or Tuscan-style pasta. The $5 Flavor Menu is a new 2016 addition and it includes other customer favorites like a giant-size chocolate-chip cookie. The catch: You have to buy two or more items to redeem the deal.

2. The hot-dog pizza crust was actually pretty amazing.

Seriously. Don't swear it off until you've tried it. Though it received harsh criticism from naysayers like John Stewart, the pizza has some redeeming qualities—like offering a two-in-one appetizer-dinner combo for your hungry friends. And its cheesy counterpart, the Cheesy Bites pizza, wasn't half bad either.

3. That "dresser" of treats is actually a huge money saver.

For $20, you can completely customize a tri-level box of pizza, breadsticks, and dessert from the 'za chain. In the so-called "dresser" you get two medium pizzas, any flavor of breadsticks, and an oversize chocolate chip cookie—plus dipping sauces. Basically it's a three-course pizza-centric meal that saves you some serious cash. (Ordering all three of these individually would normally set you back about $35.)

4. Combos are basically Pizza Hut's schtick.

Just when you thought cheese bites and pigs in a blanket was all the restaurant would ring around your pie, Pizza Hut debuted our favorite madcap creation: the breadstick crust pizza. We honestly can't get enough of it. It's a time and money saver. Order one pie and you get those famous, customer-favorite breadsticks automatically. Start with them or save them for last, but whatever you do, don't skimp on the marinara.

5. It was the first national pizza chain to remove artificial flavors and colors from its core lineup.

It joins big brands like General Mills, Campbell's, and Chipotle in taking out the fake stuff. And we agree that the eats are better for it.

6. There's an entire cheesy merch line.

You know, so you can get decked out in slices via patterned socks, pepperoni-brim hats, sunglasses, yoga pants (wait, what?), even blankets. We have to admit, it's a pretty cheesy obsession.

7. A Pizza Hut blog exists and it's hilarious.

It's called Hut Life and you should probably follow it. One of the most recent posts, "Awkward Moments Made Better By Pizza," is a laugh-out-loud account of blind dates, small kitchen fires, and other cringe-worthy stories gone wrong—until the greasy pies showed up.

8. Stuffed crust debuted in 1995 and has been a major seller ever since.

Because cheese makes everything better, duh.

9. That amazing "read a book, get a free personal pan pizza" program is still alive and well.

Apparently childhood isn't over. Pizza Hut just celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Book It! program that promotes students to read in exchange for free personal pan pizzas. Since its inception, the program has enlisted more than 60 million students.

10. Pizza Hut has delivered to outer space.

In 2001, it became the first company to do so after it delivered 'za to the International Space Station.

11. Gluten-free pizza is a specialty, not an after-thought.

Pizza Hut totally prioritized the dietary restriction by partnering with Udi's, a hallmark name in gluten-free breads and baked goods. Plus, the chain is certified gluten-free by the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) when it comes to the GF cheese and pepperoni pizzas.

12. The red roof originally opened way back in 1958.

In Wichita, KS of all places. But it wasn't until 1969 that the chain got its signature red-hot roof logo that we know it for now.

13. Pizza Hut sponsored Back to the Future Part II and its fictional dehydrated pizza was featured in the flick.

On Back to the Future Day (October 21, 2015) the brand launched limited-edition "dehydrated pizza" packets in conjunction with Pepsi Perfect, which was also given spotlight in the movie.
